What is the Physiotherapy Exam?
Physiotherapy is an elective examination; it consists of 90 standard multiple-choice questions, of which 80 questions are scored. The ten non-scored questions are included within each examination for diagnostic purposes. The Physiotherapy Examination is allotted 75 minutes of testing time.
Who can take Physiotherapy?
- You must have successfully completed 120 hours of instruction in physiotherapy, before the NBCE application deadline.
- Your instruction must be from and/or recognized by one of the chiropractic colleges whose students are currently eligible to take the NBCE examinations.
- You may take Physiotherapy individually or in conjunction with other NBCE examinations.
What topics are included in Physiotherapy?
The NBCE develops every exam based on a test plan. The detailed Physiotherapy test plan includes topics and weightings (the percentage of the test devoted to each topic).
Does the NBCE publish a list of books to help me prepare?

Can I see sample questions?
The NBCE offers a sample test for Physiotherapy. The sample test contains 50 questions and costs $15.
What can I expect at the test site?
The NBCE is committed to exam security. The only items you are allowed to bring into the testing area are two forms of ID and a key to your car. (NO remote keyless entry devices are allowed.) Please review the complete list of test site rules before you arrive to take your test.
What time is my test?
Physiotherapy exams are offered in March, June, September and October. (See the scheduled administration dates.) The March and September administrations offer both paper-and-pencil and computer-based formats. The June and October administrations offer the computer-based format only.
